The divides are well adapted to grazing and general farming. The Opinel folder was invented by Joseph Opinel in 1890 in Savoie, France as a simple working man’s knife. It proved popular with the local famers, herdsmen and winemakers of the area. The company is still run by the Opinel family to this day.
